Subtraction Concept Map
This was an assignment for my course CI3030: Investigating Mathematics and Learning. At the beginning of the course, I created a concept map showing what I knew about subtraction. Over the course of the semester, I revised my concept map to reflect new information and strategies that I was learning, and at the end of the course I created another concept map demonstrating my new understanding of subtraction, including all of the concepts I had learned over the course of the semester. I also wrote a paper, in the form of a letter to a principal explaining why I taught mathematics a certain way in my classroom, summarizing what I had learned about subtraction and how it should be taught. I created the initial concept map by hand, and created all of my subsequent concept maps using Google Drawings.
